“Susan in Accounting can't print,” Kevin says, smiling apologetically, phone in hand.
“Again?” I groan. “Fourth time this week. She always picks the wrong printer.”
We trade knowing looks.
“Want me to do it?”
“I'll handle it.”
They let Todd go last March. Now, Kevin and I support a thousand users. We're overworked. We have to cut back, they said. Do more with less, they said.
I reach for my bag. CD's, flash drive, laptop. At the bottom, a razor-sharp knife.
Cut back, they said. Do more with less.
We lost Todd. It's Accounting's turn.

So does this IT team make inter-office housecalls? My boss keeps complaining he can't print too!
