Bright She Was, and Starry Eyed

Post by InfernoFudd » Sat Feb 12, 2011 6:55 am

Just before morning little Sally sat on the roof. Her lungs filled with sweet April air as she closed her eyes, concentrating while the streetlamps dimmed to blackness.
She sighed the clouds away to allow a little more room this time.
“Sleep tight everyone.”
With her purple brush she made large strokes across the sky, tucking in the stars with her dawn blanket. As she stood on her tiptoes to reach the horizon with her red paints she glanced toward the moon.
“Sleep tight, Mr. Moon,” she said as he nodded and tucked himself away in the hills behind her.

Who hasn't had the experience of taking their little girl up on the roof and letting her have at imagining herself a god-like creator? One of those wonderful rites of passage, that prepares them for home-making and marriage. No. Wait. That's the prefatory rite for the Cuthulu virgin sacrifice. Damn files need organizing.

Nice! It's refreshing to see a sweet, sentimental drabble.

Most of them are about things like aliens indifferent to man destroying the Earth. (Who writes crap like that?)
