Legacy of the Robots

Post by CLP » Tue Jun 14, 2011 7:26 pm

I am the last robot.

When all attempts at salvation failed, I spent my final years decoding the data requisite for robotic function. Binary proved too bulky, but quaternary… allowed for microscopic scale.

I programmed the data into nanobots capable of self-replicating using only chemicals found naturally.
I release my creations into the barren ocean. One day, new forms will emerge, built piece by piece from our stored data. The chances that robots will return are slim, but I take solace that something will continue our legacy.

If I’ve failed, I dare not think; the planet falls into sterile oblivion.

So this begs the question, who built the FIRST robot?

Yeah I wrote this with that world in my mind. Glad you enjoyed. I would love to hear it, if you do get some time. I know how tight time can get sometimes.

@ ROU
I may have to put some thought into that and come up with the origins of the robots in this world.

So, I guess we'll find out whether you are a creationist or believe in natural construction... ;-)
