Mindco

Post by will write for beer » Mon Oct 07, 2013 8:36 pm

Thanks to Mindco’s neural wormhole technology, timeshare vacationers no longer shared condos; instead, they shared minds.

Pick a mind, any mind, from any time in the past, and Mindco could insert your consciousness there for a week; you’d feel what that person felt, experience what they experienced.

Of course, as you were just hitching a ride, so to speak, you couldn’t influence the actions of your vacation host; you could only observe. But the feelings were as real as if you’d experienced them for yourself.

What they hadn’t counted on, however, was the host’s ability to hitch a ride back.

It's totally safe. We've tested it, literally, fractions of dozens of times.

Nice drabble!

I wonder how many people have gone hitching in someone's mind and had a "bad trip," like witnessing their host committing a murder or something...

Sign me up! I rather fancy the idea of being possessed by the ghost of Douglas Adams. When my drabbles suddenly become inexplicably awesome, you'll all know what happened to me. :D

Good drabble. I would love to do this. I wouldn't mind someone coming for the ride either. Hopefully it would make us both appreciate what we had a hell of a lot more. It would cause us all to dispel the illusion that the grass is greener on the other side.

Also I wonder what would happen if you went into the mind of someone you admired only to find out they were not at all what you thought they were. For example, what if you went to George Washington's mind and found out he was a pedophile or he was some sort of genocidal maniac (I am not saying he is). History has a way of white-washing our heroes. What happens when there is none of that? Can we still hold them up on a pedestal?
