A Universe in Infancy (Child's Play Prompt)

Post by JarodKAnderson » Sat May 03, 2014 11:46 pm

The red ball bounced twice then fizzled out of existence with a sharp crackle and the smell of ozone.

Ella didn't see the ball go. That was the point. If she had, it would still exist to be seen.

The tower of blocks that had stolen her attention fell at the touch of her patent leather shoe and the little wooden cubes began to blur and distort as her mind wandered.

Once, she had parents. She would again, if she remembered.

One day, she'd imagine other consciousnesses, and they'd be so.

Every three-year-old's solipsism is quite complete. And quite correct.

Yeah, one of my favorite subjects.
Everyone is astounded at how God can control all the prayer traffic for billions of people in an infinite universe. But it's possible the universe is nothing more than Ella, and God only churns the butter occasionally.
