It's always what you don't know

Thought I'd try this drabbling thing. 100 words exactly.

The alien spaceships had traveled dozens of lightyears to our little blue planet. They thought we were such easy pickings. All their research showed we lacked any weapons capable of besting them. Their shield technology alone made all our conventional missiles useless. Throwing nukes at them would only destroy our own people.
As seemingly countless ships hovered over all the major cities of Earth, I sent this message to the leader of the armada. “You've made a mistake. How huge a mistake you ask?” I pulled out my trusty concertina. “Time to find out.”
They turned, and ran. I smiled.
