Of course the ice cream is melted. What did you expect? No, I can’t stop selling them. If I stop selling these sticky cones, something terrible is going to happen.
Quit your whining. At least you can go somewhere else, a little farther away from that asshole singing his gibberish “Italian songs.” I gotta listen to that shit all day.
I know. You wanted ice cream because there’s no shade. All the leaves burned off the trees and the sun just keeps beating down.
The days are. . . funny here. In this park, every day’s the Fourth of July.

Love it, Goc. I've read it three times and still have no idea what's happening, but I love it anyway. I know I'd want ice cream if I was suffering from heatstroke in an eternal 4th of July as well, no matter how sticky.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and the Chicago song "Saturday in the Park" came on, and I slightly misheard a line and thought of this. A park where "every day's the fourth of July" sounded like it could be a special kind of hell.
Can you dig it? Yes, I can!

I feel so special that I actually "got" a song reference that I have no idea if it's a good drabble, or if I just like it because I got it.

I feel exactly the same way about it, strawman.

It might be fruitful to copyright this as your trope... characters living trapped in songs.

Love the Drabble. Like MonsieurMoustache, I had no idea what was going on. It just created a very weird image in my twisted brain. The apparent disjointedness of the situation. Slightly nightmareish.

I like to think of Drabblecast as the Entertainment room in House of Leaves
