Nice Costume (Hallowe'en theme)
He heard the trick-or-treater outside the door. The candle went out as the jack o’lantern pitched off the table.
“Wow,” he said. “That is a terrific costume. I usually don’t give out the good treats when a big kid comes to the door, but that’s worth a handful. Now, where’s your bag?”
He craned his neck to look up. He smiled as the back plates lit up Cherenkov blue and a jet of fire spewed into the night, dropping a jet like a scorched moth. The kid had even done the sea-floor ooze on the foot just right.
Two handfuls.

I learned a little about Cherenkov radiation as a result of this. The more I learn, the more I realise how little I know. I do like educative Drabbles.Penman Bland wrote:... Are there super hero references here that I'm missing? And what's with the sea-floor ooze?

I decline to answer fully, on the grounds that Toho Studios may get stroppy.

But seriously, I think I may misappropriate that picture for future Avatar use.

I liked it, took me a while to click but turns out I'm not as well versed on Kaiju as I probably should be.
