There had been much excitement amongst the canine community in anticipation of the ‘Pooches Promenade’.
They arrived in droves, genteelly unfastening their tails at the door and hanging them on endless rows of hooks around the foyer. There was dancing and merrymaking until the wee small hours when a fretful yelp of “Fire!” went up.
In panic they streamed from the ballroom snatching any old arse from its peg as they bounded headlong into the night.
And that is why all dogs; on encountering a fellow hound; excitedly investigate the other, in the hope of finding their own long-lost derriere.

EEK! Your tale of tails used the wrong kind of tails! Butt, I enjoyed the ending

Many on the forum have asked me, so here's my answer: a spoonful of lighter fluid. And you'll need to wash it out really well when you're done.
