Health Care Reform

Post by strawman » Wed Aug 19, 2009 4:15 pm

In what can only be described as an in-your-face response to Republican fear-mongers, the Public Option in the House bill was replaced today with a more direct program, called Cash for Grandma and Grandpa.
It was noted that the program would pay for itself by eliminating Social Security and Medicare. “Grandma and grandpa produce a lot of gas and go hardly anywhere”, declared Speaker Pelosi.
The program will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, via carbon sequestration. (The bill’s provisions requires that Grandma and Grandpa be buried rather than cremated) The AARP announced it is withholding its endorsement pending further study.

Not very well written and not really a story, but I must approve on principle.

Why not go the extra step and turn their bodies into something useful, like food or fuel, instead of taking up real estate in graveyards that could be used for farmland or something. Ohh ... a graveyard / farm: the bodies fertilize the food.
