True Story

Post by Mr. Tweedy » Tue Sep 01, 2009 8:27 pm

A black van pulled up beside me and masked men leapt out, forced a sack over my head, and dragged me back in with them. When the sack came off, I was in a large, low room with many people waiting in chairs. Everyone glanced about and fidgeted nervously, but no one spoke. I waited three hours. Finally a man with a gun called my name. “You owe us $105” he said. “Why?” I asked. He only tapped his pistol with his thumb. I paid.

The black van returned me to the sidewalk, and I continued with my errands.

The city of Chicago don't mess around when it comes to parking scofflaws.

Take it more literally. (Note the title.) This is very strongly inspired by something that happened to me today, with just the thinnest layer of fantasy over the top.

Well, if it wasn't city court, it had to be You Got Put in Jail for Charity! Did Tweedy have to bail himself out? That would be sad.
