Heaven

Post by LajesticVantrashellofLob » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:53 pm

Heaven isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Saint Peter was nice, but he was too busy to say more than a few words.

My room is small, but certainly pleasant. “Though shall not covet”, after all.

Turns out they let in pre-Christians as well. I quickly discovered that Socrates and karaoke mix with hilarious results.

No, it’s mostly the noise that bugs me.

The constant, incessant yelling from the zealots who are still trying to convert each other to a specific denomination.

I don’t know what they would do to me if they discovered that I was an atheist.
Philosophy is a game with objectives and no rules. Mathematics is a game with rules and no objectives.

You're always the hero in your own story - life is about not being the villain in anyone else's.

Probably blink at you, I'd guess. An atheist in heaven? Wouldn't that be something like being a gravity skeptic?

Some of the most Christian people I know are atheists. You know the type, I'm sure. Spends time listening to what elderly people have to say. Stops to help fix flats when someone is stranded. Visits sick friends in the hospital. Stops a stranger from getting mugged when it would be easier not to get involved. Those sorts of folks. I've seen people like that on both sides of the atheist/belief debate.

Nice drabble. The ending didn't twist as much as it put a good exclamation on the point you seem to be making here.

Seeing as your gonna be around there a long time, that last line might, perhaps, be better expressed as an inevitablility.

What is this "Gravity" you speak of.
