The Hungry Sky

Post by ROU Killing Time » Fri Oct 09, 2009 8:58 pm

The images captured by the shepherd spacecraft, of the Centaur rocket reaching its target, were not of the plumes of water-laden gas that had been hoped for.

The pictures that came back of the lunar surface opening a mouth and gulping down the missile were followed by a satisfied belch that was both comical and disturbing to see.

For millions of years Luna had circled, her hunger sated by the manna of asteroids that rained down from the heavens.

This new treat from blue Gaia below was something new, refined, and tasty.

She looked down, stomach grumbling, hungering for more.
