3 CDs in 5 days

Post by moonowl » Tue Jan 12, 2010 7:41 pm

My SIL got me the Drabblecast CDs for giftmas. While on vacation ( and a couple airport delays) I listened to all of the cds over a 5 day period. That's about 15 episodes a day.

That much Drabblecast at once really does some pretty strange (and glorious) things to your thought processes!
I'm not sure if I discourage or highly encourage it.

That's some serious immersion. I go to sleep alot by listening to the most recent drabblecast, then lettingi the iPod cycle backwards so I'm well aware of the effects you speak of.

Have you started to sprout tentacles in odd places too. (Preemptive note, that's tentacles with a "N"...)

No teNticles yet. However, I did spray a bit of ink at an annoying coworker to assist a speedy escape.

Impressive that a relative knew enough about your obsession to know what to buy. We must walk with our heads high, proudly wearing a shirt with a pig and dolphin mating!

I try to save each episode for when I need it. I think the most I've listened to is 4 in a row.

Did any clear favorites stand out?

Yes, nothing worse than having a drabblecast jones on. Luckily Norm is a reliable pusher.

Kudos to moonowl's family for supporting the cast via the purchase of drabbleswag...

edit: btw Tom, I see you are nearing the elite 1000 post club. Note how I didn't make this observation with a second post to drive my count higher. I have SOME ethics. ;-)

Well, SOME of us prefer quality to quantity. I think Kevin Anderson is one.

I did not even consider saving them up. I'm the 'eat the whole box of cookies now in case the zombies come tomorrow' type.

The relatives knew about the swag because I added it via my Amazon wish list!
I did not tell them that I could download them for free. :) But now I have an archive after Neo shuts down the Matrix.

Oh, it was my schizophrenic inlaw that gave me the cds. No joke. Deliciously appropriate, no?

Oh yes.
ALL the Saki ones.
Next Stop ( I was on the damn subway when I had it on. Left an impression. Or phobia. Gee thx! Yeesh.)
The Silver Ring (I'm a fantasy geek)
Tiger Princess (such luscious images)
The one with the paleontologist and the time traveler husband (Arc of Hronos?)
Morton (How can you not cheer for that dork?)
Sleep age (My husband has a sleeping disorder.
Spoiler:
I'll just get some solar panels and hook him up.
Sing, that I listened to for the 5 or 6th or 7th time.

Oh, and I'm kind of sad it took me so damn long to find this gig.

The important part is that when you pressed pause the Drabblecast didn't keep playing.

Wow. Bo Kaier: wunderkind tagline creator.

Moonowl, people are usually paid for being medical test subjects ya know. Next time you pull a stunt like that be sure to call the NIH first.

Quite so.

One of things I love about the drabblecast is that it validates the feeling that strange thought processes are nothing to be ashamed of, in fact they can garner quite a following of fans. (Not that I'm saying you are crazy Norm, but you are the strangest narrator telling strange stories to all of us strange listeners out in podcast land...)

Reusing the joke, but drabblecast is THE favorite podcast of the clinically strange. (and band-geeks)

How many of us do not get to express our clinically strangeness on a daily basis? The Drabblecast helps remedy this.

Well, Drabblecast as therapy explains ROU's post count.

you da man, Bo. :)
And it coincided perfectly with me taking the #1 spot.

Oh btw why are the admins names all purple now, is it something you did? I figured StalinSays would have preferred the red color for the admins...

I was poking around in there for like 45 minutes - I was trying to change it so admin group wasn't bold-faced. I was adding myself to admin but wanted to remain one of the people. I had to settle for changing the color to something less 'in your face.' Gray wasn't available.

I am going to make those official ranks with little pictures. One of these days.
