I've been talking with Bo, and I think there's a better possibility of getting something going forthwith. I'd hate to duplicate something he is working on, so I'll let him figure out da next steps.

Ugh. I'm so fed up with FreeForums, I'll gladly help with any sort of data entry grunt work that anyone needs to make this a reality. Considering how much I hate data entry grunt work ... :D

A pox on FreeForums. A non-lethal one that lasts only precisely as long as it takes for them to stop screwing everything up. :x

Anyone wanting to do anything with the forums, you're welcome to it. I have no experience pertaining to migrating one, or what forum/message-board services are best (since DC's is the only forum I've ever frequented). Experiment away, and if you want to move formally, give me the pitch. My only hold-up is not wanting to start fresh and lose our old posts. Though that isn't completely off the table - FF's frequent downages boil my blood.

My present web noodling applies only to drabblecast.org. And just this moment said noodling isn't happening as mega-beasting is in full swing. Also, I'm about to travel across the country and relocate to the west coast. I like to do it about once a year.

You can pay to exit Freeforums with your data. I think it's like $25 or something.
Whilst I have a place we could host our own forum at, I don't really have the technical knowledge to get PHPbb loaded up with all the right plugins and get the ads working for Norm. I may be IT, but I ain't a coder.
