Oh come on, J.E. Ignatius McNeil is such a cool name! You gotta shake it, baby!
You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
Haha. I vacillate between worrying that it'll look like I do half the readings on Dribblecast (I have no idea what the percentage actually is
) and worrying that it'll look like I'm self-promoting in some ridiculous degree. And then every so often, I pull off something like Misfit or Home where I'm epically proud of it (for voices and production respectively) and really wish I'd promoted my blog off it.
I think The Sea God(s) may turn out to be one of those, but I'm tempted to redo some of the voicework on it and add some more production on it so I can be equally proud on both accounts.

Yea... I wouldn't worry to much about stepping of people's toes with regards to apparent positioning of your ego. We want stories read. I don't care if it's you, me, or George! Be proud of doing a good job, and forget about the rest.

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
A question...What is the feed url for the Dribblecast? I am trying to subscribe to it using a podcast app on my Droid (thus not iTunes), but I am stuck.
BTW sent a new recording up earlier.

Depends entirely on what you mean by 'strike'... ('Sacrifice' by CLP emailing up to janitorial as we speak).themorg wrote:Work the clowns to hard and they are sure to strike.normsherman wrote:Indeed, well done clown. More, more!
The Dribblecast: Beepin' Good.

You need to put this url in every post about this podcast, and in your sig. All this time I thought that the dribblecast was merely theoretical. Like a floater.
Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)

I'm lending out my principle sound equipment tomorrow and won't have it back for a bit so I won't be able to record any voices for this myself, but I was thinking we could do a promo and see about pimping the promo on other podcasts. I know several podcasters pretty well and it shouldn't be hard to convince them to play it.
If you have edits for this, or want to write a better one yourself, please do. I just threw this together in about two minutes, and based it off ads for old "body-snatcher" style movies.
Code: Select all
VOICE 1:
(bored)
Dribblecast.
VOICE 2:
(confused)
Dribblecast?
VOICE 3:
(slightly scared)
Dribblecast.
VOICE 4 (crowd of voices):
(very scared, shrieking in terror, ad lib "oh my god, run away, it's coming for us" stuff surrounding)
Dribblecast!
NARRATOR:
Dribblecast, 100 word stories of weirdness written and recorded by fans of the Drabblecast. Check it out at Dribblecast DOT Posterous DOT com
Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
It is not just 100 word stories though. There are some short stories in there as well (and a collection of twabbles).
But the idea is great! I'd love to contribute (maybe even put it all together, I don't know

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
Yep, just trying to keep it short and simple. Well, not too simple.
How about ... "Dribblecast, short stories of weirdness written and recorded by fans of the Drabblecast. Check it out at Dribblecast DOT Posterous DOT com" ?

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
So how do I get in as a reader?
Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
If there's no interest in advertising, it's fine by me. My slow response on that line has been mostly owing to difficulty finding a way to say that which is convincing. I'm quite seriously fine not advertising if everyone would prefer to go that route.
Eggyolk, just pick a story you'd like to read, see if the writer is on the "willing victims" list on the first page of this thread and get permission if they're not. Then, record the story, convert to mp3 and send it on to the dribblecast e-mail address in the first post.

Get IN as a reader? You make this sound like an exclusive club. I'd say your credentials qualify, tho.eggyolk wrote:So how do I get in as a reader?
