Horror Ficiton in Podcasting

Post by nevermore_66 » Tue Apr 20, 2010 10:14 am

I wrote an article about audio horror fiction and podcasts (that features, amongst other things, the Drabblecast) over at http://www.killer-works.com.

This isn't you trying to promote your new novel is it? If so, we might need to have a chat about that.

No, seriously, I think the article is very well done. Great job! I agree with all of your points.

 nevermore_66's blog post on that was hilarious. Also kind of sad.

The person he was dealing with makes me wonder if that mindset is in the norm or if it's well outside the norm. I'm horrible at self-promotion, but when I have a book to pimp, you can guarantee that's going to go in my sig everywhere I post that does signatures.

At the same time, I've always loved introducing people to new things. Back in that timeframe where mp3.com was doing legal stuff but before they got sued out of real existence for the naughty stuff they used to do, I'd go through hours of music there finding awesome stuff to introduce people to. It's something I really enjoy doing. Twitter is kind of neat in a way because it's perfect for someone who likes promoting cool stuff other people do.

Anyway on your killer article, nevermore_66, I was pretty spiffed with the artistic way you presented your promotion of horror podcasting. It's an art work in its own right, and also teaches new podcast fans how to be great podcast fans by donating and participating in forums. I read it before work this morning (so not a morning person) so I didn't get as much out of it as I might have at a sensible hour like 11PM, but it's pretty awesome.

Great article.
You're my quasi-ichthian angel, you're my half-amphibian queen...

The Dribblecast, we don't care if you sound like an idiot.

Ugh...yeah. It was a sad/funny encounter (http://joshuadoetsch.blogspot.com/2010/ ... phony.html). It would have been like trying to convince this lady that light refraction in water is a natural phenomenon:

Glad you folks liked the article :D

Since the days of listening to my audio Edgar Allan Poe CDs, on my discman, in high school PE class weigh-training, I've been a fan of podcasting before it existed. I'm glad it's now here and was very happy to get a chance to shout it out.

Woops.

The original link was to their main page (and it's not the most recent article anymore).

Now it can be found here: http://www.killer-works.com/viewarticle.asp?ID=128
