Order of the Good Death

Post by groomporter » Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:59 pm

A fun series of videos by a cute young mortician

From her website:
The Order is about making death a part of your life. That means committing to staring down your death fears- whether it be your own death, the death of those you love, the pain of dying, the afterlife (or lack thereof), grief, corpses, bodily decomposition, or all of the above. Accepting that death itself is natural, but the death anxiety and terror of modern culture are not.

Most people I know have no terror or anxiety at all concerning death. After all, the odds of any particular moment being one's last are higher than hitting the Powerball lottery. Plus, I've heard that if you wear a blindfold, there's no way you can see the bright light you're supposed to walk towards.

I had lots of terror and anxiety over death when I was a child, but I think that mostly stems from having the possibility that I might die before I wake drilled in to me right before bedtime.

And the Lord took your soul, just as you asked, but missed the precondition, leaving you undead and wanting a glass of water. "Mooommmy..."
