Hey! Thanks for the warm welcome tbaker2500, ASID, Varda, and strawman .
By the way, I really like your sigs, too. I'm not what I once was, either. But at least now I can hold more ray guns.

Visible Matter 7.4% / Dark Matter 92.6%.
About the same proportion as Actions / Good Intentions.
Hmmm. Can the Theory of Everything be far away?

Visible matter+energy = 80+ %, with the rest likely there but not observed by surveys and techniques to date, for purely mundane/technological reasons.
Dark matter = 0%. This was a gross calculation/reasoning error (didn't account for relativity, for one) that just won't die -- much like the idea that Irish immigrants weren't so bad after all.
The term for this kind of widespread error is "(Mis)Information Cascade" and the examples of MIC's are legion.
Recall a "classic" twabble:
When Dan calculated galactic motion using relativity, dark matter was not needed. 95% of the universe went poof.
Oops.

No. And I have created several closets (both design and construction). But I'll swear to my dying day that it was the carpenter, we hired, that bungled that pocket-door installation. I was working in the barn. Honest.
PS: I'm not aware that Creationists, or any other widespread sect, has any kind of stance on Dark matter.
As long as you acknowledge that all the stars and planets, etc. were created 7000 years ago, and are kept in stable orbits by Newton's angels, you can have all the "Dark Matter" you like!

Re: Post your Twitfic Twabbles Here! (General Content)
As much as I get off on the sensation of being spun around blindfolded, I'm unable to corroborate the 0% dark matter theory. Even when I look in the cryptomatter conspiracy sites.
Wikipedia, everyone's standard reference work, says "According to the Planck mission team, and based on the standard model of cosmology, the total mass–energy of the universe contains 4.9% ordinary matter, 26.8% dark matter and 68.3% dark energy.[2][3][4] (<-- This apparently indicates a pause for comedic effect.) Thus, dark matter is estimated to constitute 84.5% of the total matter in the universe and 26.8% of the total content of the universe.
Apparently total content and total matter are NOT the same thing, because if they WERE, it would follow that their percentages would be the SAME (Caps added to emphasise that I don't have a clue).
Can anyone tell me where the hell that Thus comes from?

As for the math, that's simple:
Note that the decimal places are further lies, because none of our estimates of matter and energy are that accurate. The Error bars go as high as 20%.
I'm disappointed in your Google Fu. Articles starting to explain the colossal error in cosmology are readily available. This one, for example.
But if you thought that people went apeshit over the Pluto/planet error; many lesser "scientists" seem content to take Dark matter to their grave. It's been built into everything they've done for the last few decades. It's one reason why their theories keep going further off the deep end, inventing craziness rather than questioning their erroneous "knowledge" base.
Code: Select all
1. ) Universe = mass + energy. Ignore the fact that relativity shows that mass and energy are equivalent; The Dark matter proponents ignore relativity for the most part.
2. ) According to your quote of Wikipedia,
4.9% M + 26.8% DM + 68.3% DE = 100.0% of the universe.
3. ) Right there, we know that they are wrong. They are neglecting ordinary energy, which we barely have a clue about (Neutrinos being a wild card), and which may constitute as much mass as ordinary matter.
4. ) The 84.5% comes like so:
a) Matter = 4.9% M + 26.8% DM = 31.7% of the total Universe. (allegedly)
b) DM % = 26.8 / 31.7 = 0.845 = 84.5%
