It was dark and she was very lonely. He offered shelter. She said yes. He killed her and ate her. She is not lonely anymore.

The icy water flowed and churned around him, but it was the sickening slurping sound that told John that the end was near.

Mr. Tweedy goes to Hell

“Welcome to Hell,” the sign read. “Please take a number and wait.” I took my ticket. It was blank.

Reminds me of the church announcement about Helen Waite being in charge of the new suggestion box: "You will notice we have begun the new suggestion program. If you have any suggestions, please go to Helen Waite.

I kill the mimes. The invisible wall they sustain to separate hell from earth thins, fails. So the end can finally come.
Just thought this one from way back in May deserved some recognition...

Did no one comment on that one? That one was awesome, one of the best. (I actually remember it from back in May.)

I too like this one. Obviously before my time. So yeah, let us recognize this shining twat that rose above a sea of drab and lackluster in comparison twit-fics.

A common ancestor? Darwin, you poor fool. This ancestor was beautifully complex, and the downward spiral inevitable.

A Shining Twat? So, it's come to that, has it? It's sure to be the name of the year-end award. Wonder if Bo is up for the casting...
Guitardel, you have spoiled my book. All the evidence points to Devolution.

That's actually what I think happened... It's, like, Biblical.

Also reminds me of the story "Devolution" by Edmond Hamilton. Wise, powerful single-celled beings come to Earth to check up on their lost colony and are horrified by the multi-celled monstrosities they find lumbering around.

I have a question about how the contest is run. Does Norm pick from any story in this thread regardless of when it was posted? Or for next week's winner on 10/1, does the story have to be submitted between 9/24 - 9/30? I know this is mostly just for the fun of writing Twabbles, but was just curious.

You go and evangelize for DC, and he'll suddenly like your twitfic. Money works too.

Fated to live, Gus licked the elder god's skin. Sleep invaded, it awoke, then died. The call ended.
