Actually this tech has been around for about a decade. It was originally developed and used as a way to measure/treat children with ADD. The first programs were simplistic graphics of a bird flying across the computer screen. The longer the child could concentrate on the bird flying, the longer the bird would fly. If the child lost concentration, the bird would fall and game over.

I've been waiting for them to refine the tech a bit more before getting a set for my gaming but they are available. I would predict in the next two years we will start to see these "helmets" be introduced as an optional alternative to our XBOX remotes.

When my daughter was making us all suffer from her ADD and ODD (Oppositional/Defiant Disorder aka I'm going to kill that child) we took her to this program for about a year. It mostly worked. She's 21 and doing well.
