Apparently sharks are crossbreeding for the first time, making hardier sharks.

The 57 hybrid sharks were found along a stretch of coastline about 1,250 miles long. Mixing the two species would presumably make them stronger, better able to withstand variations in their environment, said Morgan. “You’re seeing evolution in action.”

Black Tip to Black Tip though? Yawn. Now when the hammer head and the whale shark start getting together, that's something. Or the bull and the tiger hybrid up, then that critter gets together with a great white / mega-mouth, then we're talking huge, aggressive sharks that can survive in fresh water and have glowing mouths start invading the St. Lawrence - apocal'awesome!
