It's on ABC ????
It will probably tie into the season finale of Lost...
or Dancing with the Stares.

I'm guessing it's a hoax. If it were, real we would surely have heard what the first one was. If there's a chance that this thing is a diseased or mutated animal, wouldn't the NY Dept. of Health by obliged to do an autopsy? It also makes me suspicious that there's a blog devoted to this thing where you can buy a t-shirt.
My guess is that the hoaxers made several different models, some from latex and some from real dead animals. It doesn't look like a computer model.

Anatomically it looks like a domestic pig... with the exception of the skull. I suppose, considering the cranial and neck tissue has been peeled backwards and my belief in a hoax, that the original skull was replaced with something I can't put my finger on at the moment.
But in all seriousness, I do hope that it is legit, or a genetic mutation. I love knowing that there are things in this world that in my lifetime will never be explained.

Life is like that block of bleu cheese hidden in the back of the fridge: stinky and getting moldier.

I read somewhere that it was determined that 1.0 was a raccoon. There is no beak just a jaw bone with missing teeth and a weird camera angle. The paws and teeth match those of a raccoon. Floating in salt water tends to do crazy things to a rotting mammillian body. I'm sure 2.0 has a perfectly normal explanation.
