Yeaaaah, if Mongoose is in the next round, I'm going to have to go with you there. Well, depending on what power Scar picks up from the losers of this round anyway. But it's going to be hard for Mongoose to lose.

Next Round is listener-created beasts, so the universe is safe for a little while longer.

/scoff. This is a Death Match!! Besides, none of the abilities listed include "channels Norm Sherman's awesome powers." Although, maybe we can save that for next year... hm....

Ah, sweet.

I found out quite by accident that a polar bear had already been done. Sadness.

Still trying to work out my concept for Drabblecast's very own IP-safe Kaiju.

In MY mind, they zoom out and blow up the dung beetle.

I love that the main argument for Stego is "it has rockets." That's like the quintessential male argument for anything. Boys boys boys, it isn't always over so fast!!

I'm pretty sure Norm was a Hellcat fan.... ;)

To my mind, singling out one competitor as the boy-centric choice is ineffectual. Taurd has a big phallic sword. 'Tep has a big phallic horn / crest. It'd have been unfair of me to leave any of the three visually emasculated.

---

I choose to believe Norm is secretly voting for Minotaurd, and not telling anyone. In this way I'm not disloyal.

---

We're underrating Minotaur's sex appeal in all this. Check the comments on my deviant art posting:

Furry fan boys! Click his profile, I dare you!

just going by the majority of the arguments! it's all just for play and teasin'. talkin smack is what makes it fun! (normally, i'm the least-smack-talkin-gal you ever did meet)
'Tep has a big phallic horn / crest.
Yes but that's just your penis fixation in your drawings there ;) Tep doesnt actually use his horn for anything. Swords and missiles have undeniable phallic undertones. You have to admit, its a good point. (haha)

when someone comes up with an argument on how forward-fixed rockets splat an evil life-sucking bug on your own back, i'll be delighted. actually i'd like to know how the dino even fires them off in the first place, but i figured thats just getting technical.

Listen to the loving care with which Norm read Nyarlothotep and then tell me he doesn't love Scarho'tep in his heart of hearts - and so much so that he stutters his name each time he tries to pronounce it. I think he's really choked up with affectionate emotion, but he's trying to put up a tough front by publicly backing Tristegotops.

One important point that people have failed to recognize about Tristegotops is that, as a result of recent discoveries in paleontology, Tristegotops has been identified as a junvenile of the species. That makes him likely to 1) get overexcited, shooting off his rockets and horns prematurely at the wrong target; 2) be uncoordinated and awkward as a result of changes in his developing body and 3) be confused by simultaneous attraction and repulsion to Mino's large-nippled man boobs.

 For the next Women Writing About (Sea Monsters? You know you wanna ...) Month, everyone on the forum whose gender is not clearly known from their name should be referred to with feminine pronouns. :D

I think dreamrock is fairly neutral so I suspect this'll be one of those "s/he who thought of it gets the brunt of the 'pun'ishment" scenarios. Ah, puns.

But aside from the laughs, I think it's kind of an interesting point. People seem to assume that nicks on the net that aren't specifically feminine are male. Not sure how much of a problem it is on the Drabblecast forums, but it certainly is elsewhere. Since the Women Writing About (Sea Monsters) Month kind of has a point--a lesson if you will--why not add a little practical application?

The point, of course, would be lost if it got clouded with the idea that being a woman was a punishment, so it should more focus on the problem of assumptions.[/rambly nonsense I probably shouldn't have posted]

Ah yes, but if it wasn't for the fact that Norm, Bo, Janny, Bell, and MrsMica have all met me, I could be a woman with a studly stolen photo for an avatar.

Well, that and I imagine I sound pretty male on The Dribblecast. Speaking of which, there's about a million drabbles I want to record for that. Should probably find some time tonight.
