That sound like the voice of frustration. So what's the hangup at this point? The new version of iWeb won't let you specify the full path or something?
I'm no expert in iWeb, I use rapidweaver for all my web dev. But I do know macs and web hosting quite well, so I can help if you need.

Once the story leaves a writer's hands, the interpretation of that story leaves her or his hands as well. What is "intended" doesn't preempt the reader from developing other theories based on what is extant in the text.cammoblammo wrote:It's entirely possible Ms Foster didn't interpret the story correctly. Maybe she needs another listen.

Yep. The day I posted that I'd been listening to a bit of Derrida on another podcast. It comes up a lot in theology these days, so I've got this stuff coming out my headphones.bolddeceiver wrote:Once the story leaves a writer's hands, the interpretation of that story leaves her or his hands as well. Haha, that would be an awesome Drabble banner. Can someone do this up? It would also be awesome to have a Wiggly People drawing contest to see who can come up w/ the best Wiggly person. There's so much room for creativity there.
One day he will look into what a ‘stigmata’ really is; for now, it is his trump card for getting out of work. He simply says ‘stigmata’ and they say ‘shit, hope you feel better soon.’ End of story.

I have heard that song some time ago, but more recently some podcast somewhere referenced the song, and somehow that popped into my head. Apparently that means it is only awesome, but not more awesome.bolddeceiver wrote:Was that intended to fit in that line from Five Man Electrical Band's Signs? Cause if so, awesome, and if not, even more awesome.Chivalrybean wrote:HELP WANTED

I instantly thought of Richard Matheson's 1950 short (1,245 words) story Born of Man and Woman, one of my all-time favourite short stories, evar.normsherman wrote:Strange- I thought it had a very Marblesy vibe.strawman wrote:This story strongly reminded me of Drabblecast 26, Patricia Russo's CRAZY.
But I got better.

Oh, and do check out the video that the thread mentions, Rubber Johnny, by Chris Cunningham. Turn out the room lights, put on headphones, and embiggen it to full screen.
Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People
I felt like this story had potential but didn't quite live up to it - I guess in a short short stories it might be harder to give the reader that feeling of a satisfying ending - interesting gesticulating at something that might be cool or interesting but not much payout?
Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People
One of my favorites. And judging by the 3 pages of comments, one of the most commented on stories. I am wondering how I would like the Drabblecast if I listened to 10 stories a day for a month. I might start to get indigestion...

So touchy. I've put very positive comments on many of these ie most recently reality bites. But i'm sure you don't want a forum where ONLY positive opinions may be expressed? I obviously love the DC a lot or I wouldn't be listening to so many and quite frankly, I've been pleasantly and frequently surprised at how much I've enjoyed some of the early ones. But no, I don't unequivocally like them all with no reservations.
There'd be no point In a discussion forum if THAT was everyone's reaction.
But next time I'm ambivalent about a story, ill be sure to check the number of comments others made and base how much I like it on that .... That is clearly the best way to measure a story's worth (that's how we know 50 shades of gray is great art after all - the massive number of sales and discussion)

Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People
Maybe this is why the recent stories have so much less discussion happening .... You've all agreed to not disagree? *waits for assimilation*
Re: Drabblecast 068 - The Wiggly People
Who's being touchy?
Is it not permitted to wonder how eating a dozen of one's favorite deserts daily would affect one's taste buds? I watched 4 seasons of Breaking Bad and House of Cards in one week, so I know my binge and purge. I think of all the times I had to relisten and mull over an episode in order to appreciate subtleties, and wonder how you do it.
I am enjoying old memories as you wade through the catalogue from yesteryear. And yes, I think there is a correlation between the story and the number of comments in the forum. The correlation may not necessarily always speak to the quality of the story as you judge it. But if you measure your pleasure partly by the involvement and growth of the DC community, its reaction and interaction with the episodes is a key ingredient to my DC experience. I miss the many strange folks who used to participate, and it's frankly kinda sad to see them now raising their children, having made the wrong choice between DC and video games, (or careers. What kind of example to your kids is that?)
Anyway, thank you for stepping in to fill their void. May you land softly when the cupboard is bare.
