Aftermath
It was early in the morning and Christmas day had just past.
Here and there in the quiet streets, alone or in small groups, the survivors huddled around makeshift bonfires made from trashcans and kerosene.
The shivering people warmed themselves in the red blankets that the salvation army worker had passed out and chewed slowly at the c-rations he had also left as a gift.
In truth, the survivors were few. Those special select ones that were known as “the nice.”
There had been so many people on the naughty list in Portland that year.
So very many people.
***
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.
Peace!
ROU

I like it.

Re: Aftermath
it is actually acting a bit tuckered out these days, im hoping the bots have nothing to do with it. Also dribblecast isn't seeing much action these days now that i think of it. Anyone planning to record anytime soon?
If I wrote it you can read it unless you sound like Fran Drescher.

I'll try and record another dribbler when I can. Lots of stuff on everybody's plate right now, I suppose.

Re: Aftermath
Heard this on the podcast, and loved it. Too many people have the wrong view of "Satan Claws".
Alas, the story was "spoiled" (perhaps literally) by the use of "c-rations" which pretty-much disappeared 20-30 years ago and would be well past their shelf life. "MRE"s replaced them, and are in use today.
Speaking of which, I have a couple cases of 20 year-old MRE's I can let someone have, cheap!

S.Claws is old school. Those C(hristmas)-rations have been around since Cthulu knows when.Algernon Sydney is Dead wrote:Heard this on the podcast, and loved it. Too many people have the wrong view of "Satan Claws".

Glad you enjoyed. Now you know that the best time to visit Portland is the day after Christmas when all the naughty people have been taken care of.
(They seem to be replaced with a new crop every time the next Yuletide season roles around.)
