Eye--Heart--You
Now this is the point.
You fancy him mad.
You mistake acute senses for illness. You tear up the planks, discover foul play. Two pieces remain missing. He never saw what slithered down the drain during dismemberment. You never saw what hatched from the ocular socket.
They join, now, beneath the floorboards—the pumping organ and vulture eye. They attach in egress—another mask abandoned—chaos crawling.
Listen. Harken. Like a watch enveloped in cotton. The beat that decrees insanity—all lucid thoughts to slay.
Do you not hear it?
Here! Here!
It is the beating of my hideous heart!

I keep wanting to "like" posts. Where's the "like" button?
I enjoy this because of how it mimic's Poe's style. It means nothing on its own, but it's a fun sequel.

Excellent drabble, deserving of the full Rish treatment me-thinks (the voice in my head when I read this is definitely Rish's).

Appreciated. And this is certainly available to anyone that wants to give it the treatment.

Which voice are you referring to? We have many.Phenopath wrote:Excellent drabble, deserving of the full Rish treatment me-thinks (the voice in my head when I read this is definitely Rish's).
I'm a huge fan of "Tell Tale Heart." In fact, I blew out a speaker once with my screaming of "Dissemble no more! Tis the beating of his hideous heart!"
Great drabble.

Thanks!
I'm a big fan of that story too. I about wore out my CDs to Closed on Account of Rabies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed_on_ ... _of_Rabies) with Iggy Pop's rendition of "The Tell-Tale Heart".
