Not A Drop To Drink
Not A Drop To Drink
The hordes of undead had taken to the streets,
infecting all those they came in contact with. So, we donned body armor and riot gear.
Unrelenting, they came at us like a macabre phalanx as we mowed them down with automatic weapons to the last.
We finally dispatched the creatures, but at a cost.
As their blackened blood caked the asphalt rivulets ran into the gutters tainting the water supply.
So we wait as the thirst takes us one by one each faced with the decision to languish silently or to sate our thirst and be damned to live again.

This... makes a hell of a lot of sense as a zombie scenario consequence and I'm baffled as to why we haven't seen it explored in more detail. I guess you could argue that "The Crazies" did.

True, I mean i was surprised no one said it but i thought about how people avoid being bitten or making contact but people are being shot in the head left and right. All that blood in the streets has to go somewhere.

Nothing says it's guaranteed, though; lots of parasites and diseases can't live outside of their chosen environments for long.
