As previously noted, I'm game, but have other things to get out. Put a site too bed this weekend, and I have something to do for Abbie now. Maybe in the second half of the week I will be able to utilize my login and make with the shoe polish.tbaker2500 wrote:More episodes moved over. About halfway there.
Are there any features that people want?
Bo, are you interested in making it pretty? The background is eh.. Either with this theme or use others. The login I sent you will work.

Cool. I'm slugging through the episodes.

I haven't looked since you started putting episodes in. Is there an easy way to sort out episodes by writer and reader? It's a request we've gotten a few times. Bell was handling it by hand for awhile but that's a bit of work.tbaker2500 wrote:Are there any features that people want?

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
I'm trying tags. It's not perfect, but it might be a start. check it out at http://www.gardenstreet.org/dribblecast" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I haven't uploaded or tagged all episodes yet. I'm putting a tag for both the reader and the writer. So, if you click on the J.E. Ignatious McNeil tag, it will show all episodes either read OR written by dreamrock. If anyone has a suggestion for a better way, please say so!

That's probably the best way to do it. Let me know if you want any help with the data entry. From a few passes through the original to fix formatting errors, I've got an excessively good idea of how annoying it can be. XD

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
I uploaded the next 10. The Wordpress system you've set up is definitely a lot better than the Posterous one. I accidentally uploaded an incorrectly named MP3 and was able to delete just the file itself and upload the fixed one without a problem ... and without googling for help either. Huzzah.
I'd like to upload all the rest tomorrow, but realistically I'm thinking it'll probably be 10-15.
Is there a way to set up a Autocomplete Tag thing? I can type the first few characters of our most frequently used tags faster than I can click the thing and hunt through the list. (Sorry, this will only make sense to Tom).

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
Awesome! Thanks for the help. I can only do 10 in one sitting. We'll trade off.
For tags, once a name has been entered once, simply start typing it in and a drop-down will appear with it in it. The down arrow to select it and hit enter.

I've been re-listening to these stories. Damn, there is some fine stuff there! I don't remember most of them, it's a blast listening to them again.

Hm, that's not showing up on mine. I'll try a different browser when I get home and see if maybe the panel just doesn't like chrome.tbaker2500 wrote:Awesome! Thanks for the help. I can only do 10 in one sitting. We'll trade off.

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
Ok, we're up to ep 84. Still got like 40 to go or something. Wow!
I'm getting the itunes feed ready. Since we don't have access to the posterous feed, we'll have to post a new podcast episode on the old feed telling people where the new feed is located. Then, I'll wrangle with itunes support to try and kill off the old feed.
Good news, is that with the new feed, if we ever have to change it again in the future (http://www.dribblecast.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, anybody? $10/yr), we can easily redirect now that we have access.
Now, keywords. In iTunes it allows up to 12 keywords serparated by commas. So far I have:
Flash Fiction, Short Story, Dribblecast, Drabblecast, Audio Fiction
Suggestions, people?

Not sure about the keywords, but tell me where to send my $10 + papal thievery ... err, fees and I'm all about a domain name. Let's get this baby off the ground right.tbaker2500 wrote:Ok, we're up to ep 84. Still got like 40 to go or something. Wow!

Re: Fan Cast (Dribblecast Decision Making)
Yeah, you're right. I've registered 2 years of dribblecast.org and .com, my treat. In two days or so, when the domain names propagate the the interwebs, I'll move the site over to that domain. Then we'll be too legit to quit! (Sorry, I don't know where that came from...)
Which domain should be considered the primary, and which forwards to the other? I.E., Is it Dribblecast.org, and when you accidentally go to dribblecast.com it takes you to dribblecast.org? Or the other way round?
By the way, anybody other than Dreamrock and me is welcome to jump in here!

I've been going through a lot of episodes and authors recently. And I now beg the question- what exactly is a Phenopath? There is a company in Seattle named such, but other than that I'm curious.

I vote .com fails over to .org so our real address will match Drabblecast.tbaker2500 wrote:Yeah, you're right. I've registered 2 years of dribblecast.org and .com, my treat. Speaking of being too legit to quit, you should hear the short version of the promo I plan on doing for our address-change.
P.S. If someone has strong feelings about what the promo should be and wants to make another one, please feel free. I just had fun practicing this on the commute home.Ladies and Gentlemen. Misters, Missers. Misses, masters, mixters, hipsters. Creatures of the odd, Cephalopods, Elder gods. Lend me your ears!
The dribblecast has a new address. You heard me, don't make me turn this car around.
Are you ready? Do you have a paper and pencil or other writing implement?
The dribblecast's new address is dribblecast DOT org. That's d r i b b l e c a s t DOT o r g.
