You so nailed DC comics
Kudos for trying to pioneer new ground but, alas, it does not compute.loyaleagle wrote:Alas, it's 101 charactersSo close:

Plug into any binary decoder...post if you can make it fit better!
My sense is that last line ought to read "with that, he supposed himself gone" or, "with that, he was a goner."munsi wrote:"I love you," he told her, "more than life itself. But not more than her. So, goodbye, I guess."
And with that, he was gone.
Huh? I thought it was "Wish you were here"? Anywho, seems to be a word misspellerized. Either that or the narrator is a lisper... But, then, it should probably be "epithaphs in the themetery".strawman wrote:I sometimes like to go read the old epithaphs in the cemetery. The funniest one I ever found read, "Damn! That was close".
Wow, that was extremely....yeah....Algernon Sydney is Dead wrote:Kudos for trying to pioneer new ground but, alas, it does not compute.loyaleagle wrote:Alas, it's 101 charactersSo close:

Worse, that was a quintuple foul!
The closest you could probably get with that subject would probably be: "01000001 01101110 01110011 01110111 01100101 01110010 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 00110100 00110010 00101110"
- Improper binary grammar. Should be "00110100 00110010 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01100001 01101110 01110011 01110111 01100101 01110010" at the very least.
- Improper English grammar and syntax.
- Missing punctuation.
- Mangled quote.
- That was 104 chars, not 101, and not 100.
As for the 100 char bit, that is impossible. Nominally the binary would have to be a multiple of 8, unless you used a more obscure coding. The nearest 2 multiples are 96 and 104.
You might say that leading zeros can be lopped off, but the alphabet starts at 01000001, giving only 1 leading-zero that is droppable. So it would still be 103 chars.
