I shook uncontrollably. Beneath the paint was something alien. The clown spoke only three words. "Beep beep, Richie!"

No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers. As we uttered those words, we knew the end of civilization had arrived.

It is evil. Everyone knows that. Everyone has always known that. I had to do something. I had to stop it. Why? I don't know.

Dammit it's catchy and now I'll think of puppies whenever I want a simple - sigh.

Exhausted from his cold he collapsed in bed. He sneezed, he coughed and snot drooled out. It filled the room. He drowned.

Ungodly babble,
Women aren't evil!
They're pretty & nice!

Hmm. Not sure that's a ringing endorsement... Sun-burnt, bug-bit, sweaty and dirty, and probably suffering from at least borderline heat exhaustion.JanetMermaid wrote:Was inspired while driving home from a camping trip in west Texas:

Thanks! We actually had a lovely time in the Davis Mountains and at the McDonald Observatory. We were listening to Drabblecast on the way home and I got inspired. I've published a novel but this is my first Twitfic.Algernon Sydney is Dead wrote:Hmm. Not sure that's a ringing endorsement... Novels are EASY! It's the Twabbles which really show what you're made of! Right, ASID?
Plug your novel, what's it called?

I agree that the skills that go into a good twabble are needed to be a great novelist (and various great novelists and writing tutorials have expressed similar notions), but it's oranges and grapefruits in the end.
If you've got the time
& letters for crime,
then be a novelist.
But, when every char counts;
craft twabbles, a tiny twist.

Plug your novel, what's it called?

"The Case of a ColdTrail and a Hot Musket" -- Available on Amazon
"Private Investigator Marianna Morgan discovers she has more than she bargained for when Stephen Davidson hires her to tail and identify a woman he believes is his long lost sister Stephanie. There's just one problem: Stephanie was kidnapped and presumed murdered 35 years ago, when the twins were seven, the night their home near San Antonio was burgled and their father was murdered. If it is Stephanie, why has she suddenly resurfaced, where has she been all this time, and why hasn't she contacted her brother? If it isn't her, why is the woman in question attempting to stop Marianna's investigation, including death threats . . . and worse? Caught up in the confusion are both Stephen and Stephanie's quests to recover a valuable Alamo-era musket, the only item stolen from the home that fateful night. Marianna must use all of her investigative skills to figure out what is really going on and how to resolve all the decades-old loose ends."
Eric is bugging me to make it into a podcast. We have a music venue so I could record it with high quality microphones and professional mixing board...
