Help Wanted: Editor, Drabblecast Classic
So, we've been toying for awhile with the idea of starting a new podcast feed called "Drabblecast Classic" which features reruns of old shows from throughout the past 7 years. There's a big 'ol backlog of archived episodes at this point and while Tom's set up handy 25 episode downloadable zip packs, let's face it, your average Weirdo might not be ready for that level of intense and systematic Drab-doctrination.
A reliable feed featuring a weekly grab-bag story from the archives is just what the doctor ordered for new fans looking to get their tentacles wet as well as old DC vets wanting a simple stroll down memory lane.
In addition to the editor's picks, we anticipate Drabblecast Classic taking advantage of voter-favorite polls, theme months and other fun stuff as far as story selection.
So...
-- Do you like the Drabblecast a lot? Roughly about as much as your second favorite child, or if you don't have children, approximately as much as women in their mid 20's- 30's like Jennifer Lawrence?
-- Do you have a tiny bit of extra time each week that you'd be willing to dedicate to championing a brand new DC initiative?
-- Have you been fully immersed in the frothy ham-scented waters of the sacred Drabbaptismal font, transformed as was Saul of Tarsis on the road to Damascus by our complete 325-episode catalog of primary-feed podcasts? (Have you listened to every episode?)
-- Do you like deciding what other people are going to listen to? (Do people generally refer to you as despotic, overbearing and by and large suffering from a god-complex? Are those individuals subsequently levied with harsher tax, tithe and tribute amounts?)
-- Do you have experience with basic Wordpress operations or are you willing to learn? (If I can figure it out, anyone can.)
-- Can you explain why there is a market for vitamin water when there's already soup?

Is be perfect for the job if I wasn't so damn flaky. That Varda seems to have her head screwed on tightly (if a touch askew.)

I'm tempted, but I'm so damn busy. I wouldn't mind sharing the load a bit, but I'm already behind on website updates.

Ditto. I'm over-committed and behind schedule.
Re: Help Wanted: Editor, Drabblecast Classic
This is a great idea! Seems a shame to leave such good stuff in the archives (and too many people only listen to what's fresh this month!)

Yeah, I check the boxes on everything except having the time to spare.

If the job is still open after I recover from my upcoming back surgery (2 months or so) I'd be willing to reconsider and toss my hat in the ring. Finished the move into the new family enclave, and things seem to be calming down. I would like to give something back to DC.

I for one would welcome our ROU editorial overlord.
And good luck with the back surgery--hope it goes smoothly and you're feeling better afterwards.

Re: Help Wanted: Editor, Drabblecast Classic
Just saw on FB, ROU just had a bad rear-ender, and is in hospital in lots of pain. Deja vu all over again. This is bound to result in what PKD would probably refer to as a "'transformational paranormal reprioritization of reality', just like happened to me". I mean, if he were still alive he might refer to it that way. He might just call it shitty luck, or, depending on the other driver's assets, simply "Bingo!"

No Bingo here. (As long as insurance covers the ambulance ride and time in the ER, I'll be happy.)
And geez, Strawman. Just how many "transformational paranormal re-prioritizations of reality" does one soul need?
(In my case, i guess the answer is "many")
To allay anyone's concerns, I'm feeling much better now, and was able to make my appointment with my pain management specialist. I guess a shot of Dilaudid, Valium, and whatever anti-inflammatory they pumped into me can have that effect.
As always, to all my dear friends, thank you for your kind thoughts, wishes, and prayers, (whichever is applicable to you.)
It's all appreciated, and I can only attempt to return the love given to me in equal measure.

Yeaouch! Sorry buddy. I know it's not pleasant when somebody goes at your rear end like that.
So is the back surgery due to this accident, or in addition to?
