Eternal Gardens of Living Teeth
This is a response to Everyone know it's your Parents by MonsieurMoustache
Around his neck is a gruesome wreath; unfolding his robes spill tinkling teeth.
Black bog ground and a creeping newt, in necrotic gardens the teeth take root.
As the Ferryman floats between his banks, one by one the dead join their ranks.
A misty morning, clouds in the sky. Without warning Charon walks by.
Castings his shadow, swinging his scythe, he holds out his hand to gather his tithe.
A man too poor to pay his toll, will give all he has to save his soul.
Piercing, unseen eyes choose one row; he exacts his price in one smashing blow.

Many on the forum have asked me, so here's my answer: a spoonful of lighter fluid. And you'll need to wash it out really well when you're done.

That was genuinely chilling! Thanks for responding to that challenge. I love this idea of a garden of teeth, although my question only grows more urgent - what does he do with the teeth now that he's got a crop of them? For another time, I'm sure, because the mystery is proving a very enjoyable source of drabbles.
Great work, Tangerine.

Well, I was going to have a try. I think I'm better off having a lie-down instead.

Don't do that! How can anyone become a better writer without keeping on writing!? What if, to make it easier, we all promise to take into consideration your Canadianship when we review your work?Penman Bland wrote:Well, I was going to have a try. I think I'm better off having a lie-down instead.
