MB3 - R3 - Gargantula vs Velasquez vs Unicorpse
Re: MB3 - R3 - Gargantula vs Velasquez vs Unicorpse
Look, I still can't comprehend how pandemic didn't win last year. The opposition was just given way too much respect. Remember how the Iraqi Republican Guards were going to be so badass in Dessert Storm? Same deal with Gargantula and Unicorpse.

Re: MB3 - R3 - Gargantula vs Velasquez vs Unicorpse
The events of Pandemics round were tragic, especially considering the emergent Meta-Beast was blasted in the next round (a solid 4th place showing). I actually drew the meta version for all 3 because it was 'too close to call' going in to the last weekend. Predictably I liked Pandemic's version best. Sigh. Maybe if he had H1N1 he could have wielded 'mass panic.' to his benefit.
The furtive Gargantula lead has been erased. The final weekend, aka the moment of truth has shown a light on our 8 legged friend. The podcast should hopefully be out tomorrow and despite it being "the worst ever" the group shows impressive arachnid solidarity. Maybe the Sunday pocast listening contingent can be a difference maker?

That's exactly my prob! I always go for the underdog.tbaker2500 wrote:zZzacha, you are having the same problem I had last year. Always picking the wrong beast to back. 'Tis frustrating. So far I've been lucky this year.
Well, except for that yipping dog, he was just plain annoying ;P
Also, I keep forgetting to vote, so Unicorpse is doing really bad this round.
I'll be there in 5 minutes. If not, read this again.

Podcast changed my mind. I was a solid Unicorpse backer... I mean, except for his horn, he's invincible... it takes him a while to stab anything to death, but come on, Velasquez only has a day's worth of ammo. Unicorpse has all the time in the world, and if he just keeps absorbing lead all day, he's not gonna mind.
However, I'd forgotten about Velasquez's hand grenades. "Oh, the undead unicorn isn't going down after two clips? Fire in the hole!" Unicorpse's horn is just so much dust in the wind.
PS: In this fight, no consideration is due to the spider. Gargantula is intimidating, but Gargantula is crap.

I'm telling you--back the penguin. No one ever expects the penguin. Unless he runs up against a Mega-walrus, Valasquez is good to go. Maybe not ultimately the most dangerous creature in the game, but definitely the most fun vote this round.
Is the voting over already? What time zone are you guys in?
Hand it to the penguin, boys. This one's over.

I think the nail doth be in the figurative coffin. Painguin prevails. A good match for the abomination that will be Demonic-Lionic with rocket boosters.

Velasquez won by 28. I close the polls at midnight Pacific, but it was pretty much a done deal by the time the witching hour hit on the east coast.strawman wrote:Instant replay?

Ye' all be damned!
One day he will look into what a ‘stigmata’ really is; for now, it is his trump card for getting out of work. He simply says ‘stigmata’ and they say ‘shit, hope you feel better soon.’ End of story.

Oh cool. I switched from Unicorpse when someone mentioned Vela would morph into Painguin, and you just can't beat a pun that horrible, imo.

NOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, this result is acceptable. I was rooting for and voting for Gargantula, but the freakin' fun factor of a penguin with an AK-47 is nothing to be disappointed with
