A Wish For Susan
Susan grasped the monkey’s paw. It felt like it was trying to struggle out of her grip for a moment, but she was able to hold on.
Now in control of the paw, Susan gave great thought to her first wish, though she had forgotten the well-known fact that said wish would always be cursed.
Ever the romantic, Susan spoke her wish aloud, “I wish to fall in love with a strong, handsome man.”
Seconds later a zoo security guard wrestled her away from the monkey exhibit while scolding her for touching the animals.
He was not handsome at all.

Very, very nice use of dramatic irony. I love this one.

This forum used to be very active in that way. It would be nice to see it all brought back from the dead.

It’ll just take some time, I assume. I got on here right before the big hiatus, but I’m trying to be as active as possible. It is kind of hard to find so many different ways to say you love a Drabble or story or whathave you, since really I’ve only seen high quality stuff posted since the ‘cast got rolling again, however, but that’s a good way to start the forum back up again I feel.eric_marsh wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 3:00 pmThis forum used to be very active in that way. And they are actively trying to do something about it, I got a mass email from Norm requesting people post Drabbles that I assume was either sent to all registered forum members or Kickstarter backers, one of the two. Maybe both. But I’m sure it’ll get back to being closer to how it used to be.

A "like" button would be great but unfortunately the forum software doesn't have such a thing.

I also loved this one! And I’m also a romantic and often wonder how my first star wishes will break bad.
Regarding a like button... well I kinda like that this system requires verbal praise. I don’t knit well with social media in general, and seas of likes exhaust me. But words I could trade all day!

That's awesome Memento. Yes, it takes time and, frankly, forums are a bit of a dinosaur in today's internet. So maybe with a little frog DNA we can get this attraction running againMementoHero wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:26 pmIt’ll just take some time, I assume.
