Reborn into the Sea
When the moon rises, they meet it on the shore. The tired ones, the mad ones, the utterly used up ones. Night black waves roll in to meet tomb black teeth in twisted, giddy smiles. The lights of the city at their backs wink out. They have forgotten the world that has forgotten them. With an ululating, elated cry they shed their tatters, embrace one another, and fall silent forever. From distended mouths they disgorge phosphorescent cephalopods, radiant and free, into the fathomless deep. Depleted husks rustle in the breeze and, shimmering as one, they are reborn into the sea.

Re: Reborn into the Sea
Nice. Almost reminded me of the movie Dagon.
