One last embrace

Post by The_Hol-Man » Fri Jun 07, 2019 6:14 pm

It's been two days now. Apparently she died suddenly around midnight, in her sleep. Everyone's been as sympathetic as you'd expect, reminding me that she'd lived a good, long life. Going peacefully like that, without experiencing any pain or a gradual decline in her faculties, is what a good woman like her deserved.

But I'm left with a question, one that I can't bring myself to ask anyone, and that no one would have an answer for anyway. If she really did die in the middle of the night, then just who -- or what -- was hugging me tightly until sunrise?

Hi, everyone! I'd love to hear feedback on this one. I have an abstract suspicion that there may have already been drabbles or full-fledged stories on the 'cast that are very similar to this in concept, so please let me know if you can think of one. I don't want to rip anyone off! And if you like the concept but have pointers on how it can be executed better, I'm all ears for that too!
